Startup to showcase new platform in ALPHA 2017 during Collision

(April 17, 2017) Castango, the evolution of Tradeshow Casting, will be going live the week of April 17 as an innovative job marketplace connecting performing talent with companies hiring nationwide. Castango was selected as one of the startups to showcase its new platform in ALPHA 2017 during the Collision tech conference to be held in New Orleans May 2-4.

Castango’s platform efficiently matches performing talent including actors, models, singers and dancers with businesses requiring such talent services for trade shows, live events, video, print, commercial advertisements and other related short-term gigs. The Castango platform supports the entire talent casting and booking process including search, hire, communication and payments.

“My vision is a world where talent does not have to rely on talent agencies to have a successful career,” said Founder/CEO Chekesha Van Putten. “It is one where talent can truly be independent rather than waiting for others to control their destiny. Castango will deliver a better solution for all involved.”

Chekesha, a professional spokesmodel, actress and dancer with over 20 years of talent industry experience, launched Tradeshow Casting ( in 2015. It is a job board matching talent with jobs in the industry with clients such as Chevy, Gatorade and Fuchs Lubritech to name a few. Chekesha soon recognized a greater need to fully manage the payment transactions and enhance the platform. She decided to expand with to better address the broader talent gig market.

In the United States, there are approximately 1 million individuals who collectively earn over $10 billion in compensation by providing short-term, talent services to businesses and other entities. Worldwide, the earnings are estimated to be $20 billion.

Talent agents earn approximately $3 billion in earnings and this is the market that Castango is addressing. Although talent agents have facilitated the matching of talent and employer, there has been no efficient, reliable or safe place for talent to find jobs online. Over the last 10 years job boards such as Craigslist as well as other online services have offered casting notices and talent profiles, however, many of these online businesses have not been able to streamline the job casting, communication and payment, which are critical parts of the overall talent booking process.

Chekesha is changing that with Castango and is ready to earn her share of the billions of dollars generated as well as innovate the tech side of talent-matching services, as other notable industries have successfully done. She is preparing for Collision as well as working with other partners for her latest venture. For more information, visit
